Visa She’s Next Capacity Building Program

The She’s Next 2024 Program, powered by Visa and implemented by Kayana Create, was a six-week capacity-building initiative designed to empower women entrepreneurs to scale their businesses, embrace innovation, and strengthen their leadership in diverse industries.

Running from July to September 2024, the program brought together 20 women entrepreneurs from across Kenya, selected from a pool of over 2,300 applicants. The participants represented a diverse range of sectors, including technology, fashion, agriculture, and sustainability, as well as health, education, and the creative industries, reflecting the vibrancy and potential of Africa’s women-led businesses.

The program’s sessions were delivered in collaboration with industry partners, including Visa, Stir Me Tea, Fastagger, Baki Beauty, Well Made Strategy, Wilde Digital Concepts, and DK Consulting.

Program Achievements

  • Winner Busu Naturals (founded by Emma Omany) received the She’s Next Grant of KES 2.5 Million, enabling expansion of her skincare brand built on sustainable, locally sourced ingredients. The other top 5 businesses were awarded between KES 1.5 Million and KES 500,000.
